2009 to announce the release of both its vCloud Express brokerage service and vCloud application programming interface (API). The vCloud Express will allow "enterprises that already use VMware virtualization to start extending their deployments into the cloud," and the API release comes after the API releases from fellow public cloud providers Rackspace and Amazon.
