NetSuite takes on pollution

Environmental consultants Greenspace have released a report that claims using NetSuite's cloud-based services can save roughly 423,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide. The report also claims the average NetSuite customer can cut his or her electric bill by about $10,000 a year.

Cloud revenue over $45 billion in near future

A study from Telecom Trends International, a telecommunication research firm, stated that the cloud computing services market will generate over $45 billion in revenue by 2015.

Rackspace changes gears, unveils private cloud

Calling the move an "evolution of its dedicated virtual server line", Rackspace announced a new "Private Cloud" service that will allow for the rental of dedicated virtual servers running on VMware.

This week's CloudCamp Boston, the first ever, covered topics from cloud computing's benefits to issues with application development in the cloud. Another key issue discussed was how the new technology's cost structure continues to fluctuate and vary as it grows.

Panda Security, a cloud computing security provider, released a new version of its Corporate Software Solutions package that protects businesses and the enterprise.

Cloud security expert joins Enomaly

David Lie, an expert on cloud, information and virtualization security, has signed on at cloud computing provider Enomaly. Lie will serve as the company's new Chief Security Architect.
