Cloud Industry Forum
The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) is an organization in the United Kingdom (UK) that seeks to promote transparency and security in cloud computing deployments by creating a Code of Practice for cloud service providers. The organization's goal is to promote fair competition among cloud service providers by standardizing the definitions of cloud services and establishing measurable criteria for the successful delivery of services.
CIF encourages cloud providers to adopt its Code of Practice, which is designed not only to promote cloud adoption but also to help consumers to make more informed decisions when considering available cloud services. The Code of Practice, which was initially launched in 2010, allows providers to demonstrate that they meet specified requirements of transparency, accountability and capability. Certifications are managed by CIF’s independent partner, the APM Group
